The Pioneer Volunteer Firefighters Association (PVFA) is a benevolent organization dedicated to supporting the Pioneer Fire Protection District (PFPD), the Pioneer and Indian Diggings School Districts.
2021 Crab Banquets
Due to COVID19, we made the tough decision to cancel crab banquets for 2021. We hope to have some additional fundraisers next year to try to recoupe monies that will be lost. This will be decided and communicated once the path from this pandemic is more clear.
The PVFA has acquired the Fairplay – Mount Aukum Community Hall (Old Three Forks Grange). We are in the process of retrofitting it for our organization and hope to make it our headquarters and a place for community fund raisers and events.
Monies from the Crab Banquets are used to support the Pioneer Fire Protection District (PFPD). A small percentage is also provided to the Pioneer Union School District and Indian Diggings School.
PVFA subsidizes funds for reserve firefighters who are not paid employees of the district and allows for more firefighters to be working on a daily basis & also provides funds for Personal Protective Equipment equipment upgrades, medical services & needs to fill in budgetary gaps in the PFPD.
PVFA holds the Easter Egg Hunt & Pancake Breakfast for the community & Fire and Wine Fundraiser each fall. They also have benevolent funds That are used to help families in need. A Children’s Christmas Party is held each year at Station 38 on Mount Aukum Road. We are trying to plan the Christmas Party as a drive by. Check the web for more information.
Looking for volunteers.
Pancake Breakfast & Easter Egg Hunt
